Queen’s University Student Union – Bar Sub

Doors 8pm, Show 8.30

£5

QR returns with the eighth of its Radio HaHa nights, and the first of the academic year, which, as ever, showcases a bloody great line-up of comedy, while raising funds for the radio station of Queen’s University Belfast. What’s not to like?

Find the event on Facebook here.

Our headline act this time around is comedy maestro PAUL CURRIE. Paul is unlike any stand-up you’ll have seen before, so we’re not even going to attempt to explain him here. What we will say is that he’s about to appear on BBC3’s “Live at the Electric”, was shortlisted for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2013, getting to the final five out of over five hundred shows, and was none other than Stewart Lee’s favourite act of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Beyond that, we’ll just let you see what others have said:

5* – Fringe Guru
5* – The Skinny
5* – The New Current
4* – ThreeWeeks
4* – Mumble Comedy

“Pure stuff. Inspiring and totally stupid and random.” – Dr. Brown (Winner, Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award 2012)

“Currie is unique, outstandingly charismatic and utterly original…A new standard has been set for the Fringe.” – The Skinny

“A whirlwind of dizzying nonsense. Beautifully crafted, committed and exciting silliness.” – Culture NI

“Paul Currie, a man who can only be described as what would happen if Tim Burton created Mr. Bean.” – Informed Edinburgh

“There was something extra original about this guy – it was like watching the Monty Python version of stand-up comedy.” – Fringe Guru, 5*

“Paul Currie mesmerised the audience. His strength of mime provoked deep pathos and yet immense laughter…never has watching another’s turmoil been such fun.” – The New Current, 5*

Paul Currie is one of the fastest-rising stars in the comedy world, well on the way to establishing himself as a cult favourite. See him now before it’s five times the price!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

Not only do we have a wonderful headliner, but we have also have a selection of bloody lovely support acts, in ALISON SPITTLE, ANNE-MARIE MULLAN AND PADDY MCDONNELL, with all the proceedings held together by regular Radio HaHa MC Alan Irwin.

So there you have it; five comedians for five pounds, in what’s already established itself as one of the best comedy rooms in the country, and you also get to support the city’s only student-run radio station. What more could you ask for? This is the first Radio HaHa of the 2014/15 academic year, and we’re going to kick things off with a bang.

Don’t miss it!
