Current Vice-President for Welfare, Patrick Sally, has decided to stand down from contesting the upcoming Student Leader election.

Patrick Sally had intended to stand for the position of Vice-President Community.

In a statement issued to The Scoop, Patrick said:

“I decided to stand for the role of Student Officer Community as I am passionate about improving life for all students at Queen’s.”

“Over the past number of days, I have taken some time to reflect on the year ahead and I have come to the conclusion that I would like to direct my focus on developing a career outside the student movement.”

“I wish all the candidates the best of luck in the election and I am delighted that there are so many people strongly committed to making our Students’ Union stronger for all students.”
